Sunday MLB action features the Kansas City Royals taking the field at the Texas Rangers.
The Kansas City Royals have struggled against the Rangers and those struggles continued in a 4-3, ten inning loss on Saturday. Kansas City starter Ian Kennedy gave up two runs over five frames with Brad Keller allowing a run for a blown save while Kevin McCarthy took the loss with a walk off homer surrendered in the 10th.

The Royals logged six hits and walked three times with Whit Merrifield ripping a two run double followed by Jon Jay with an RBI and run. Kansas City gives Sunday’s starting assignment at Texas to right hander Jason Hammel. Hammel comes off of a 5-1 win at St. Louis with the lone run scoring in seven innings.
The Texas Rangers look to carry the momentum of Saturday’s extra inning forward for a much needed hot streak. Kansas City starter Bartolo Colon was charged with three runs on five hits and a pair of walks through seven frames for a no decision with Alex Claudio tossing a scoreless 10th to pick up the win.
The Rangers did their damage on eight hits and four bases on balls with Shin-Soo Choo gong deep in the 10th to win it while Joey Gallo doubled in a run and scored. The Rangers have named veteran left hander Cole Hamels as Sunday’s starter versus Kansas City. Hamels has won back to back contests after a 6-4 victory versus the NY Yankees where he allowed two homers over seven frames.
Kansas City are 4-9 in their last 13 games on grass and Kansas City are 17-35 in their last 52 overall and under is 8-2 in Hammel’s last 10 on grass. Over is 6-0-2 in Texas last 8 home games and Texas are 7-19 in their last 26 Sunday games and Texas are 12-26 in their last 38 home games. Under is 6-1-1 in the last 8 meetings in Texas and Kansas City are 5-16 in the last 21 meetings.
Hamels has been tough on Kansas City and comes in to this matchup throwing well so I’ll back him and the Rangers…
