The Line: Colorado Rockies -125 / San Francisco Giants +105 --- Over/Under: 12 See the Latest Odds

We have some NL West division action on Memorial Day, as the San Francisco Giants travel to Coors Field to kick off a three game set.

The San Francisco Giants are in dire need of a win after losing four of their last five games, including the rubber match of their three game set with the Cubs, including an 8-3 loss on Sunday. Mac Williamson led the Giants with two RBIs, while Pablo Sandoval accounted for the other Giants’ RBI in the loss. Gorkys Hernandez and Brandon Crawford each went 2 for 5 while Brandon Belt, Evan Longoria and Nick Hundley each had base hits as well in the losing effort. Ty Blach took the loss, falling to 3-5 this season after giving up five runs on seven hits while walking four and striking out three over three innings of work. Andrew Suarez will start game one and is 1-4 with a 5.68 ERA and 30 strikeouts this season. This will be Suarez’s first career start against Colorado.

Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants - 5/28/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Kiel Maddox-USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Rockies will look to keep their momentum going after earning a series win over Cincinnati over the weekend, including an 8-2 win in the series finale on Sunday. Nolan Arenado, Carlos Gonzalez and Ian Desmond each had two RBIs with a home run, with CarGo going 4 for 4 at the plate. David Dahl added a solo home run while Charlie Blackmon added an RBI of his own to round out the scoring for Colorado in the win. Tony Wolters went 2 for 3 while Ryan McMahon added a double and Trevor Story added a base hit of his own in the winning effort. German Marquez got the win to improve to 4-5 this season after giving up one run on five hits while striking out six over seven innings of work. Chad Bettis will start game one and is 4-1 with a 3.30 ERA and 39 strikeouts this season. In his career, Bettis is 3-4 with a 4.50 ERA and 36 strikeouts against San Francisco.

San Francisco is 1-5 in Suarez’s last 6 starts and 19-40 in their last 59 road games while the over is 7-1-1 in their last 9 series opening matchups. Colorado is 15-3 in Bettis’ last 18 starts against a team with a losing record and 2-5 in their last 7 games overall while the under is 20-6-2 in their last 28 games overall. San Francisco is 1-10 in the last 11 meetings between these two teams in Colorado.

San Francisco hasn’t had any luck at Coors Field over the last year or so, and I don’t really see that changing with Suarez on the mound. Suarez has allowed five runs in each of his last three starts while Bettis has done a good job feasting on teams with losing records. All in all, given the cheap price with a huge starting pitching advantage, I have to go with Colorado to draw first blood on Monday.
