The Washington Nationals and the Baltimore Orioles resume their three game interleague set from Camden Yards in MLB action on Tuesday.
The Washington Nationals will look to keep their momentum going after winning four straight and six of their last seven games, including a 6-0 win over the Orioles in the series opener on Monday. Anthony Rendon led the Nets with three RBIs, going 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. Michael A. Taylor had a double and an RBI, while Wilmer Difo and Matt Adams each had an RBI to round out the scoring for the Nats in the win. Juan Soto went 2 for 4 while Trea Turner added a base hit as well in the victory. Gio Gonzalez got the win to improve to 5-2 this season, throwing 7.2 shutout innings, allowing just six hits while striking out three. Jeremy Hellickson will start game two and is 1-0 with a 2.13 ERA and 31 strikeouts this season. In his career, Hellickson is 9-4 with a 3.38 ERA and 73 strikeouts against Baltimore.

The Baltimore Orioles will be eager to bound back after losing three straight and five of their last seven games following their loss on Monday. Adam Jones and Danny Valencia each went 2 for 4 at the dish, with Jones adding a double, while Joey Rickard, Manny Machado and Jonathan School each had base hits as well in the losing effort. Alex Cobb took the loss, falling to 1-7 this season after giving up three runs on five hits while walking and striking out three apiece. Dylan Bundy will start game two and is 3-6 with a 4.45 ERA and 77 strikeouts this season. In his career, Bundy is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA and 4 strikeouts against Washington.
Washington is 10-1 in their last 11 road games and 4-0 in Hellickson’s last 4 starts while the under is 10-1 in their last 11 interleague games. Baltimore is 1-7 in Bundy’s last 8 starts against a team with a winning record and 0-9 in their last 9 interleague games while the over is 5-0-1 in Bundy’s last 6 starts overall. The under is 11-4 in the last 15 meetings between these two teams in Baltimore.
Despite his numbers, you could probably argue that Bundy has been the best arm the Orioles have had this season, and Baltimore knows Hellickson from his time with the team last season. However, The fact is that you’re getting a low line to fade the Orioles with a very good Washington team. Given that alone, I think you have to side with Washington on Tuesday in a repeat performance from Monday.
