Over at Citi Field on Thursday, the Chicago Cubs and the New York Mets will be kicking off their MLB series.
Chicago is coming off a set against the Pirates this week. The Cubs won the first pair of games, then on Wednesday, Chicago lost a tough one 2-1.

The Cubs will be sending out LHP Jose Quintana on Thursday. In his 52.2 innings and 5-4 record this year, Quintana has a 4.78 ERA with 51 Ks and 27 BBs.
Leading the way for the Cubs coming into Wednesday were Javier Baez and Kris Bryant, each with 52 hits. In the Pirates finale, Baez had two hits and an RBI.
As for the Mets, they just finished up against the Braves. After splitting the first pair of games, On Wednesday New York came through with a 4-1 win.
New York will be going with RHP Seth Lugo on Thursday. Over his 32.2 innings and 1-1 record this year, Lugo has a 2.48 ERA with 34 Ks.
Asdrubal Cabrera is the Mets’ leading hitter this season with 63 hits, 30 runs, 10 homers and 34 RBI entering the Braves finale. On Wednesday, Cabrera whiffed 0-for-5.
The Cubs are 40-15 in their last 56 Thursday games and 25-10 in their last 35 in game one of a series. Chicago is also 13-6 in Quintana’s last 19 starts and 13-6 in his last 19 starts on grass.
Meanwhile, the Mets are 6-1 in their last seven in game one of a series and 4-1 in their last five home games following a road trip of seven or more days. New York is also 7-15 in their last 22 Thursday games and 8-2 in Lugo’s last 10 home starts.
Quintana has had a couple of rough outings over his last three, allowing 10 earned in 9.0 innings in those two starts. As for Lugo, he’s been good out of the bullpen overall but did give up three earned on three hits in 1.1 innings in Atlanta his last time up. I’m going to stick with the Cubs here.
