The Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago White Sox square off in game one of a three game interleague set from Guaranteed Rate Field in MLB action on Friday.

The Milwaukee Brewers will look to stay hot after winning 15 of their last 20 games following a series victory over St. Louis, culminating in a 3-2 win in the series finale on Wednesday. Christian Yelich went 2 for 5 with a home run and two RBIs, while Orlando Arcia added a pinch-hit RBI of his own to round out the scoring for the Brew Crew in the win. Erik Kratz and Domingo Santana each had two hits, while Lorenzo Cain, Jesus Aguilar and Manny Pina each added a base knock to cap off Milwaukee’s offense in the win. Junior Guerra threw six shutout innings, giving up just for hits while striking out seven, not factoring in the decision. Jeremy Jeffress improved to 5-0 with the win but did receive his 2nd blown save of the season, while Corey Knebel finished off the 9th for his 5th save of the campaign. Chase Anderson will start game one and is 4-3 with a 4.42 ERA and 38 strikeouts this season. In his career, Anderson is 1-0 with a 1.69 ERA and 6 strikeouts against the White Sox.

Chicago White Sox vs. Milwaukee Brewers - 6/1/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago White Sox will look to bounce back after being swept in a three game set with Cleveland, a 9-1 loss in the series finale giving the White Sox in their 4th straight defeat and 6th loss in their last 7 games. Yolmer Sanchez’s consolation home run int he top of the 9th was the lone scoring the White Sox would do, while Tim Anderson went 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles. Yoan Moncada and Matt Skole each added a base hit to cap off the offense for the White Sox in the losing effort. Reynaldo Lopez took the loss, falling to 1-4 this season after giving up seven runs on eight hits in just 2.2 innings of work. Hector Santiago will start the opener and is 1-2 with a 4.87 ERA and 40 strikeouts this season. In his career, Santiago is 0-0 with a 5.06 ERA and 4 strikeouts against Milwaukee.

Milwaukee is 20-8 in their last 28 games overall and 6-1 in Anderson’s last 7 road starts while the under is 9-3-1 in Anderson’s last 13 starts overall. Chicago is 0-5 in Santiago’s last 5 starts against a team with a winning record and 5-18 in their last 23 games against the NL Central while the over is 4-0-1 in their last 5 interleague home games. Milwaukee is 1-4 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.

Home underdogs can be tempting because home field is usually where you’re supposed to do your best work. However, I don’t think there’s any amount of plus money that could get me to take the White Sox here. Chicago either can’t score in low scoring games, or when they do score, they give up crooked numbers on the other side. Milwaukee has been one of the hotter teams in the league over the last month, and Anderson has been solid on the road, so I’ll back Milwaukee to draw first blood on Friday and add to the White Sox’ woes.
