The Toronto Blue Jays just can’t get going with the team dropping four straight following a 5-2 loss at Detroit on Friday. Toronto starter Jaime Garcia was charged with four runs seven hits over 1.2 frames before four relievers were needed to finish up.

The Blue Jays managed seven hits and five walks with Teoscar Hernandez going 3-5 with a run driven in and scored followed by Kendrys Morales with an RBI. Left hander JA Happ draws Saturday’s start from the Blue Jays in game two of their series at Detroit. Happ comes off of a 5-3 win at Philadelphia with two earned runs allowed over 6.2 frames.
The Detroit Tigers were solid across the board in Friday’s victory versus the Blue Jays. Detroit starter Blaine Hardy upped his record to 2-0 with a pair of runs scoring on three hits and four BB through six innings.
The Tigers pounded out eleven hits and walked once with Nicholas Castellanos going 3-4 with a solo jack while JaCoby Jones went 2-4 with a pair of RBI’s and a run.
Matthew Boyd looks to continue is strong pitching when he faces the visiting Blue Jays Saturday. Boyd defeated the LA Angels 9-3 last time out with five shutout innings of work.
