The Nationals posted nine hits and walked three times with Michael Taylor clubbing a two run bomb while Juan Soto went 3-5 with a homer and two runs. Wilmer Difo tripled in Max Scherzer who smacked a pinch hit single and scored on Spencer Kieboom’s base hit.
The Nationals send Jeremy Hellickson to the mound to oppose the Braves on Sunday afternoon Hellickson is shooting for back to back wins after upending the Orioles 3-2 with both runs plated on six hits in five frames.
The Atlanta Braves missed out on a three game winning streak versus the rival Nationals with Saturday’s extra inning defeat. Brandon McCarthy gave up a pair of runs through six frames with Sam Freeman blowing the save with a 7th inning homer allowed.
