Monday MLB action finds us on the west coast where the Los Angeles Angels host the Kansas City Royals.
The Kansas City Royals never got their offense going in a 5-1 defeat to visiting Oakland on Sunday. Kansas City starter Jacob Junis gave up three runs on six hits over 7.1 innings while striking out nine before Burch Smith gave up a pair of runs in 2/3 of an inning.

The Royals attack consisted of three hits and a trio of bases on balls with Jon Jay accounting for the scoring with his first long ball. Kansas City sends Danny Duffy to the mound for the series opener at the Angels. Duffy comes off of a 2-1 win versus Minnesota with a run plated on four hits and four BB over six frames.
The Los Angeles Angels had dropped seven of ten before getting in the win column with a 3-1 win against the Rangers on Sunday. LA Angels starter Tyler Skaggs evened his record at 4-4with six scoreless innings of work.
The Angels posted four hits with Justin Upton connecting on his 12th long ball while Luis Valbuena doubled in Shohei Ohtani and Zack Cozart.
The LA Angels have named Nick Tropeano as Monday’s starter versus visiting Kansas City. Tropeano has won back to back contests following a 9-2 win at Detroit with two solo homers allowed over 5.1 innings.
Over is 7-3 in Kansas City last 10 Monday games and Kansas City are 3-10 in Duffy’s last 13 starts and Kansas City are 3-9 in Duffy’s last 12 starts on grass. LA Angels are 2-6 in their last 8 home games and LA Angels are 4-11 in their last 15 games on grass and under is 19-7-1 in LA Angels last 27 Monday games. Over is 5-2-2 in the last 9 meetings in Los Angeles and Kansas City are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings.
The Angels seem to be falling apart and don’t look like a profitable venture so I’d go small here or walk away…
