Tuesday MLB brings us to the Rogers Centre where the Toronto Blue Jays host the New York Yankees.
The New York Yankees lost out on a sweep of Detroit following a 4-2 defeat in the night cap. New York didn’t do enough offensively and the pitching couldn’t win on their lonesome with starter Domingo German allowing all four runs on seven hits and two BB over 6.2 innings.

The Yankees banged out seven hits and walked twice with Giancarlo Stanton clubbing his 13th long ball while Brett Gardner singled in Clint Frazier. The Yankees kick off their series at Toronto with veteran CC Sabathia on the mound. Sabathia comes off of a 6-5 victory versus Houston with five runs (three earned) on eight hits and two BB over five frames.
The Toronto Blue Jays have an opportunity for back to back wins after upending Detroit 8-4 Sunday. Aaron Sanchez gave Toronto six innings of one run baseball to improve to 3-5 with Danny Barnes and Aaron Loup allowing three runs in 1/3 of an inning.
The Blue Jays pounded out eleven hits and walked five times with Justin Smoak going 3-5 with a homer and three RBI’s while Randal Grichuk went 2-5 with a long ball and another three RBI’s along with two runs scored.
The Blue Jays hope Marco Estrada can right the ship when he opposes the Yankees in their series opener Tuesday. Estrada dropped an 8-3 decision at Boston last time out with four runs plated on seven hits over 3.2 innings.
Over is 8-2 in NY Yankees last 10 Tuesday games and NY Yankees are 12-4 in their last 16 road games and NY Yankees are 35-16 in their last 51 overall. Toronto are 1-8 in their last 9 home games and are 10-3 in their last 13 Tuesday games and are 5-16 in their last 21 games on astroturf. Toronto are 10-1 in Estrada’s last 11 starts vs. NY Yankees and under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings.
Estrada has had success versus the Yankees but he is a weak link for the Blue Jays rotation. Toronto isn’t anything special either but the numbers say take a shot on the plus odds or walk away…
