For Saturday’s game, the Pirates will be going with RHP Nick Kingham. In his 29.0 innings and 2-2 record this year, Kingham has a 4.03 ERA with 30 Ks and five walks.

The Pirates’ leading hitter this year is Corey Dickerson, who had 71 hits, 31 runs and 32 RBI entering this set. On Friday, Dickerson had one hit.

Over on the Cubs’ side, they’re going with Jon Lester on Saturday. Over his 70.0 innings and 6-2 record this year, Lester has a 2.44 ERA with 61 Ks and 25 BBs.

Kris Bryant is the leading Cubs hitter this season, bringing 62 hits, 34 runs and 29 RBI into this series. In the opener, Bryant had three hits and a run.

The Pirates are 1-4 in their last five Saturday games and 3-9 in their last 12 road games versus a left-handed starter. The under is 18-7-2 in Pittsburgh’s last 27 Saturday games and 5-2  in their last seven in game two of a series.

Meanwhile, the Cubs are 6-2 in Lester’s last eight Saturday starts and 6-2 in hi last seven starts with five days’ rest. Chicago is also 44-21 in Lester’s last 65 starts and 36-15 in his last 51 home starts.

Over each of his last three starts, Kingham has given up three earned runs and gone at least 5.0 innings. As for Lester, he gave up four earned versus Pittsburgh in 6.0 innings back on May 29 (and still won), then bounced back with zero earned in 7.0 versus the Mets his last time up. I’m going with Lester to have another good outing here and taking the Cubs.
