The Los Angeles Angels and the Minnesota Twins square off in game two of their three game set from Target Field on Saturday.

The Los Angeles Angels will look to build on their current winning streak which currently sits at five games following a 4-2 win in the series opener on Friday. Ian Kinsler led the Halos with two RBIs thanks to his 7th inning home run. Justin Upton added a solo home run while Martin Maldonado went 2 for 4 with an RBI double to round out the scoring for the Angels in the win. Zack Cozart and Jose Miguel Fernandez each had a base hit as well in the winning effort for Los Angeles. Garrett Richards gave up both runs on six hits while striking out seven over 5.1 innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Noe Ramirez got the win to improve to 2-2 this season while Blake Parker notched his 6th save of the season. Tyler Skaggs will start game two and is 4-4 with a 3.27 ERA and 70 strikeouts this season. In his career, Skaggs is 0-0 with a 3.00 ERA and 7 strikeouts against Minnesota.

Minnesota Twins vs. Los Angeles Angels - 6/9/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Harrison Barden-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Twins will look to bounce back and even up the set after dropping game one on Friday. Robbie Grossman hit a solo home run while Miguel Sano added an RBI double to round out the scoring for the Twins in the loss. Eduardo Escobar went 2 for 4 with a triple, while Eddie Rosario added two hits of his own and Max Kepler chipped in a base knock as well to cap off Minnesota’s offense in defeat. Lance Lynn gave up one run on four hits while striking out seven over six innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Ryan Pressly received his 4th blown save of the year while taking the loss to fall to 0-1 this season. Kyle Gibson will start game two and is 1-3 with a 3.54 ERA and 73 strikeouts this season. In his career, Gibson is 2-2 with a 5.05 ERA and 37 strikeouts against the Angels.

Los Angeles is 5-2 in Skaggs’ last 7 road starts and 5-0 in their last 5 games overall while the under is 8-1 in their last 9 games overall. Minnesota is 14-6 in Gibson’s last 20 starts and 0-6 in their last 6 games against the AL West while the under is 4-0-1 in their last 5 home games. Minnesota is 4-0 in Gibson’s last 4 starts against the Angels.

The even money with the Twins is tempting, given Gibson’s recent success against the Halos. However, Gibson hasn’t gotten the win in his last 10 starts, and Los Angeles is simply on fire over the last week and are finding ways to win. Skaggs hasn’t been overly consistent this year, but the Angels have played well with him on the road, so given the Angels’ current form, I’ll lay the juice with Los Angeles to push for the sweep on Sunday.
