The Texas Rangers will look to salvage a victory and avoid the sweep after dropping the first three games of the set, including Saturday’s affair. Ronald Guzman went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI, while Nomar Mazara and Delino DeShields each added an RBI as well in the loss. Rougned Odor added a double of his own while Jurickson Profar and Robinson Chirinos each had a base hit as Texas put forth just five hits as a team in the loss. Mike Minor gave up three runs on six hits while striking out four over six innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Jose Leclerc took the loss, falling to 1-2 this season. Matt Moore will start game four and is 1-5 with a 7.47 ERA and 41 strikeouts this season. In his career, Moore is 3-2 with a 3.46 ERA and 33 strikeouts against Houston.
Houston is 17-7 in Keuchel’s last 24 division starts and 17-7 in their last 24 road games while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall. Texas is 4-1 in Moore’s last 5 starts and 6-20 in their last 26 Sunday games while the over is 7-1 in Moore’s last 8 starts. Houston is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings between these two teams in Arlington.
Normally I wouldn’t hesitate to lay the run line with Houston here. However, Keuchel isn’t the same ace we are used to seeing this season and I’m not laying juice considering he just allowed seven runs in his last start. On the other hand, Moore and plus money holds no value as the guy gets rocked consistently. Instead, I’m going to side with the over. If both of these hurlers continue down the path they’ve been on lately, this one should see double digits when all is said and done.
