The Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles square off in game two of their three game AL East division set in MLB action from Camden Yards on Tuesday.

The Boston Red Sox will look to build on their series opening win on Monday, taking game one by a final score of 2-0 in 12 innings. Brock Holt and Jackie Bradley Jr. each had sac fly RBIs in the 12th to make up the lone scoring in the game, while Andrew Benintendi and Xander Bogaerts each had a pair of hits, Rafael Devers added a double and Mookie Betts chipped in a base hit of his own in the win. Steven Wright threw 6.2 four hit shutout innings, striking out five and not factoring in the decision. Heath Hembree got the win to improve to 3-1 while Craig Kimbrel notched his 21st save of the year. Eduardo Rodriguez will start game two and is 7-1 with a 3.68 ERA and 77 strikeouts this season. In his career, Rodriguez is 5-5 with a 3.97 ERA and 78 strikeouts against Baltimore.

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The Baltimore Orioles will be out to snap a five game losing streak after dropping the series opener in extra innings on Monday. Adam Jones went 2 for 5 while Danny Valencia added a double. Chance Sisco and Jace Peterson each had a base hit as well to round out Baltimore’s offense as the Orioles mustered up just five hits as a team in the loss. Dylan Bundy threw eight three hit shutout innings, striking out seven and not factoring in the decision. Mychal Givens took the loss to fall to 0-3 this season. David Hess will start game two and is 2-2 with a 3.07 ERA and 16 strikeouts this season. In his career, Hess is 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA and 4 strikeouts against Boston.

Boston is 14-3 in Rodriguez’s last 17 starts and 35-16 in their last 51 division starts while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 games overall. Baltimore is 0-6 in their last 6 home games and 23-64 in their last 87 games overall while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 games against a left-handed starter. Boston is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams and 5-0 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams in Baltimore.

Hess has actually been pretty good lately, giving up just two runs in his last three starts, covering 18.2 innings of work. However, the start before those three was against Boston, and Hess yielded five runs in just 4.2 innings of work. That won’t fly against a heavy hitting Boston club that’s due for a breakout after being contained in the opener. Add in the fact that Boston has been money with Rodriguez on the mound, and I think you have to side with Boston here and to negate the heavy juice, I’ll back the Red Sox on the run line.
