The Miami Marlins and the Baltimore Orioles square off in game one of their three game interleague set in MLB action from Camden Yards on Friday.

The Miami Marlins will look to rebound after having their three game winning streak snapped, failing to complete the sweep of San Francisco with a 6-3 loss in 16 innings on Thursday. JT Riddle hit a solo home run, while Lewis Brandon and Bryan Holiday each added an RBI to round out the scoring for the Fish in the loss. J.B. Shuck went 4 for 7 with a pair of doubles, and Justin Four added a two-bagger of his own, going 2 for 7 at the dish, the same mark that Derek Dietrich added at the dish. Brian Anderson and Starlin Castro each added a single base knock to cap off Miami’s offense in the loss. Elieser Hernandez took the loss, falling to 0-4 this season after giving up three runs in the top half of the 16th inning. Jose Urena will start game one and is 1-8 with a 4.59 ERA and 66 strikeouts this season. This will be Urena’s first career start against Baltimore.

The Baltimore Orioles will be eager to snap a seven game losing streak following a 5-1 loss in their series finale against Boston on Wednesday. Jace Peterson accounted for the lone Orioles’ run in the loss, going 1 for 2 with a double. Chance Sisco, Danny Valencia and Trey Mancini each had a base hit as well to round out Baltimore’s offense as the O’s put up just four hits as a team in the loss. Yefry Ramirez took the loss, falling to 0-1 after giving up three runs on four hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings of work. Kevin Gausman will start game one and is 3-5 with a 4.58 ERA and 74 strikeouts this season. This will be Gausman’s first career start against Miami.

Miami is 7-19 in Urena’s last 26 starts and 16-36 in their last 52 road games while the over is 3-1-1 in Urena’s last 5 interleague starts. Baltimore is 0-5 in Gausman’s last 5 starts and 1-10 in their last 11 home games while the over is 6-0 in Gausman’s last 6 interleague starts. The over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams and 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Baltimore.

Normally I’m the first to fade Urena because the guy gets no run support and just can’t buy a win. However, I’m not gonna lay any type of juice with the worst team in the majors in Baltimore who have lost seven straight. Sure, the O’s have a huge rest advantage with Miami having played almost two full games on Thursday, but Gausman isn’t the kind of pitcher that cancels out how bad the O’s have been. Urena has allowed three or more runs in six of his last seven starts, while Gausman has allowed 16 runs, 15 earned, in his last three starts covering 14.2 innings. Yeah. Give me the over in this one.
