The Philadelphia Phillies and the Milwaukee Brewers meet in game two of their three game set from Miller Park in MLB action on Friday.

The Philadelphia Phillies will look to bounce back after being routed in the series opener by a final score of 13-2 on Friday. Odubel Herrera and Cesar Hernandez each had an RBI, with Herrera adding a solo home run while Hernandez went 3 for 3 with a double. Scott Kingery added two hits and starting pitcher Jake Arrieta also added a base hit as well in the losing effort. Arrieta took the loss, falling to 5-5 this season after giving up eight runs, four earned, on seven hits over 3.1 innings of work. Zach Eflin will start game two and is 3-2 with a 3.63 ERA and 40 strikeouts this season. In his career, Eflin is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA and 9 strikeouts against Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Brewers will look to build some steam after taking game one in decisive fashion on Friday. Jesus Aguilar led the Brewers with three RBIs, going 1 for 4 with a home run, while Lorenzo Cain, Christian Yelich and starting pitcher Brent Suter each had two RBIs, with Yelich adding a homer while Cain went 2 for 5 with a double. Hernan Perez added a solo homer and Manny Pina added an RBI as well, while Domingo Santana added a pinch-hit double and Orlando Arcia added two hits of his own in the win. Suter got the win after giving up one run on six hits while striking out three over seven innings of work to climb to 7-4 this season. Junior Guerra will start game two and is 3-4 with a 2.71 ERA and 60 strikeouts this season. In his career, Guerra is 0-1 with a 7.20 ERA and 6 strikeouts against Philadelphia.

Philadelphia is 5-11 in Eflin’s last 16 starts and 1-5 in their last 6 road games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Milwaukee is 18-6 in their last 24 home games and 5-1 in their last 6 games against the NL East while the under is 5-2-1 in Guerra’s last 8 home starts.

Eflin has been decent winning back-to-back starts, giving up just three runs over his last 13.2 innings of work. However, the Phillies continue to be inconsistent with the bats and it’s starting to catch up to them. Milwaukee continues to be one of the hotter teams in the majors over the last few weeks, and although his record doesn’t show it, Guerra has been throwing quite well, giving up two runs or less in five of his last six starts. Given how the Brewers are swinging the bats right now, and the fact that we are getting a reasonable price, I think Milwaukee has to be the play on Saturday.
