Up at the famous Wrigley Field on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs will be picking up their MLB series once again in the nightcap of a doubleheader.
In the Monday opener, we had a rain delay and a power outage that caused a postponement of the game. That opening game will start at 12:05 PM ET.

For Tuesday’s game, the Dodgers will be bringing out lefty Rich Hill. In his 24.2 innings and 1-2 record this year, Hill has a 6.20 ERA with 25 Ks and 13 BBs.
Matt Kemp leads the Dodgers in hitting this year with 73 hits, 32 runs, 12 homers and 43 RBI entering this set. Chris Taylor is second with 65 hits, 45 runs and 27 RBI.
Over on the Cubs’ side, they’re going with LHP Mike Montgomery on Tuesday. Across 49.0 innings and a 2-2 record this year, Montgomery has a 3.31 ERA with 29 Ks and 13 BBs.
Coming into this series, Kris Bryant leads the Cubs on 68 hits, 38 runs and 33 RBI this season. Albert Almora has 65 hits with 38 runs, while Javier Baez has 62 hits with 39 runs, 14 homers and 46 RBI.
The Dodgers are 41-19 in their last 60 Tuesday games and 7-2 in Hill’s last nine starts in game two of a series. LA is also 5-1 in Hill’s last six road starts versus a team with a winning record and 1-4 in his last five starts.
Meanwhile, the Cubs are 5-1 in their last six in game two of a series and 4-1 in Montgomery’s last five starts versus the NL West. Chicago is also 1-4 in Montgomery’s last five starts versus a team with a winning record and the under is 5-2 in their last seven Tuesday games.
Hill has had some issues lately, as he has 14 earned over his last 14.2 innings and hasn’t made it past the sixth inning since his first start of the year on April 1. Hill is also coming off a finger injury (blister). As for Montgomery, he’s looked a lot better with three straight quality starts and three earned total in them. With Montgomery on the mound, I’m going Cubs here.
