Coming up Tuesday from Target Field, the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins will be kicking off their MLB series.
The Red Sox just played the Mariners this past weekend. Boston lost the middle two games but was able to win the others to salvage a series split.

Chris Sale will be taking the mound for the Sox on Tuesday. In his 95.0 innings and 6-4 record this year, Sale has a 2.75 ERA with 129 Ks and 26 walks.
JD Martinez is the leading hitter for the Red Sox with 82 hits, 46 runs, 22 homers and 55 RBI. Andrew Benintendi is right behind with 79 hits, 51 runs, 12 homers and 47 RBI to his credit.
Over on the Twins’ side, they just finished up against the Indians. Minnesota won the first two games of that set but lost on Sunday to miss the sweep.
Minnesota will be rolling with Jose Berrios on Tuesday. Across 89.2 innings and a 7-5 record this year, Berrios has a 3.51 ERA with 91 Ks and 15 BBs.
Eddie Rosario is the top hitter for the Twins this season, as he’s sitting on 87 hits, 50 runs, 16 homers and 46 RBI. Eduardo Escobar is second on the team with 76 hits, 34 runs, 12 homers and 45 RBI.
The Sox are 7-2 in their last nine in game one of a series and 18-6 in their last 24 following an off day. Boston is also 37-15 in their last 52 Tuesday games and 49-23 in their last 72 overall.
Meanwhile, the Twins are 5-2 in their last seven Tuesday games and 2-7 in their last nine following an off day. Minnesota is also 14-2 in Berrios’ last 16 home starts and 1-7 in his last eight Tuesday starts.
Sale had a couple of rough starts earlier this month (10 earned over 10.1 innings), but since then he’s allowed just two earned on eight hits in 14.0 innings over his last two appearances. As for Berrios, he has five quality starts in his last six outings, but prior to that run he was looking a little rough. This should be a good pitching matchup if both guys are on, but all in all I have to stick with the Sox here.
