Friday MLB brings us to Target Field where the Minnesota Twins host the Texas Rangers.

The suddenly surging Texas Rangers have won five straight following a 3-2 decision at Kansas City on Wednesday. Texas starter Austin Bibens-Dirkx gave up a run on five hits over 6.2 innings to even his record a 1-1.

The Rangers did their damage on six hits and seven walks with Rougned Odor going 2-3 with his second homer while Nomar Mazara recorded an RBI. The Rangers send left hander Mike Minor to the bump to oppose Minnesota Friday. Minor has thrown the ball well in a pair of no decisions with five runs plated through 13 innings.

The Minnesota Twins opportunity at sweeping the Red Sox fell by the wayside in a 9-2 defeat on Thursday afternoon. Minnesota starter Kyle Gibsonkept his team in the game with two runs allowed over six frames before the pen imploded and three relievers combined to give up seven runs.

The Twins attack consisted of four hits and a walk with Taylor Motter and Logan Morrison driving in runs while Mitch Garver and Brian Dozier scored. Minnesota hands Friday’s start against visiting Texas to Fernando Romero. Romero did not receive a decision in a 9-3 win at Cleveland last time out with three runs scoring over four frames.

Texas are 5-0 in their last 5 overall and  are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. American League Central and  are 2-5 in Minors last 7 starts. Minnesota are 4-1 in their last 5 overall and Minnesota are 14-5 in their last 19 home games versus a left hander. Texas are 4-9 in the last 13 meetings.

Both teams are playing well but Minnesota has had success versus left handers so I’ll back the Twins…
