The Miami Marlins and the Colorado Rockies square off in game two of their three game set from Coors Field in MLB action on Saturday.

The Miami Marlins will be out to snap a three game losing streak following an 11-3 loss in the series opener on Friday. Derek Dietrich went 3 for 5 with a solo homer and a double, while JT Riddle added an RBI of his own in the loss. J.T. Realmuto went 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles and Miguel Rojas went 2 for 4 while Brian Anderson and Starlin Castro each added a base hit as well in the losing effort. Wei-Yin Chen took the loss, falling to 2-4 this season after being rocked for seven runs on nine hits while striking out three over four innings of work. Trevor Richards will start game two and is 1-4 with a 5.45 ERA and 32 strikeouts this season. This will be Richards’ first career start against Colorado.

Colorado Rockies vs. Miami Marlins - 6/23/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Rockies will look to keep their winning ways going after making it four in a row with their victory on Friday. Gerardo Parra led the Rockies with three RBIs on a pinch-hit double, while Nolan Arenado and Tom Murphy each had two RBIs, with Arenado hitting a homer while Murphy went 3 for 5 with two doubles. DJ LeMahieu, Charlie Blackmon and Jon Gary each had an RBI with Blackmon going 2 for 5 with a double. Ian Desmond went 2 for 4 as did Carlos Gonzalez, while Trevor Story and Noel Cuevas each had a base knock as well, with Story and CarGo hitting a two-bagger to cap off Colorado’s offense in the win. Jon Gray got the win to improve to 7-7 this season after allowing one run on eight hits while striking out 12 over seven innings of work. Tyler Anderson will start game two and is 4-2 with a 4.52 ERA and 69 strikeouts this season. In his career, Anderson is 1-1 with a 1.29 ERA and 10 strikeouts against Miami.

Miami is 5-11 in their last 16 games against the NL West and 18-38 in their last 56 road games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Colorado is 7-3 in their last 10 games against the NL East and 4-1 in Anderson’s last 5 starts against the NL East while the over is 17-3-2 in their last 22 games overall. Miami is 15-6 in the last 21 meetings between these two teams.

Colorado seems to have found their groove again as the offense is clicking and while the pitching is starting to catch up, playing teams like Miami give you a little bit of wiggle room. The Marlins have picked up wins here and there, but this is still one of the worst teams in the National League. Richards was rocked for six runs in his last start and has never dealt with the thin air at Coors Field where the ball flies off of the bat. Anderson has done a good job stifling the Fish in his career, giving up just two runs in 14 innings of work, so combine that with the offense and I think Colorado can wi this one by a couple of runs.
