Friday MLB brings us to Petco Park where the San Diego Padres host the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Pittsburgh Pirates look to build on Wednesday’s 5-3 win at the NY Mets hat gave the team victories in two of three. Pittsburgh starter Ivan Nova did not get a decision with all three runs plated through six frames with Felipe Vasquez getting the win with two scoreless innings.

The Pirates racked up 12 hits and walked twice with David Freese driving in a pair while Gregory Polanco went 2-3 and walked while driving in a run and scoring. The Buccos scored five times in the final two innings including four runs in the 9th.
The Pirates kick off their series at San Diego with Joe Musgrove on the mound. Musgrove has struggled the past two times out with eleven runs allowed on 15 hits and four BB in 8.1 innings.
The San Diego Padres have been fading the past few weeks and have dropped four of five following a 5-2 defeat at Texas on Wednesday. San Diego starter Clayton Richard fell to 7-7 with four runs given up on ten hits over seven innings.
The Padres offense was limited to four hits and a pair of bases on balls with Eric Hosmer and Austin Hedges driving in runs while Christian Villanueva and Jose Pirela scored.
The Padres are hoping Eric Lauer can continue his strong pitching when he takes the hill against Pittsburgh. Lauer has allowed one earned run in his last two outings covering 12 innings.
Pittsburgh are 2-6 in their last 8 overall and are 2-6 in their last 8 games on grass. San Diego are 2-9 in their last 11 overall and San Diego are 2-9 in their last 11 games on grass and over is 7-2 in San Diego last 9 home games.
Lauer has thrown the ball well recently and Musgrove has not so perhaps something small on the Pirates offense to come through if you must bet this one…
