Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Texas Rangers will look to win the series and push for the sweep on Sunday after taking game one on Friday. Pretty much all of Texas’ damage on the scoreboard came via the home run, as Nomar Mazara and Robinson Chirinos each hit a three run bomb with Mazara going 2 for 4 with a double as well. Shin-Soo Choo hit a two run shot while Rougned Odor and Joey Gallo each hit a solo shot. Elvis Andrew and Delino DeShields each had two hits while Jurickson Profar added a double to cap off Texas’ offense in the win. Yovani Gallardo got the win to improve to 2-0 this season after giving up all three runs on four hits while striking out seven over 7.1 innings of work. Bartolo Colon will start game two and is 4-5 with a 4.72 ERA and 54 strikeouts this season. In his career, Colon is 11-8 with a 3.84 ERA and 109 strikeouts against the White Sox.

Chicago is 0-6 in Rodon’s last 6 road starts and 4-10 in their last 14 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games against the AL West. Texas is 9-2 in their last 11 games overall and 5-1 in their last 6 games against the AL Central while the under is 6-2-1 in their last 9 games overall. The over is 9-3-1 in the last 13 meetings between these two teams in Texas.

Backing Colon can be hard to stomach at times because there are games where he tends to pitch his age. However, Rodon has struggled on the road dating back to last season, and between the two, Texas has played much better over the last couple of weeks and is enjoying some of their best baseball of the season. Given the low line and the form of the two teams, it’s hard not to like Texas to keep things going with a win on Saturday.
