The St. Louis Cardinals go on the road to take the field at the Arizona Diamondbacks in Monday MLB.
The St. Louis Cardinals have been in a bit of a funk with four consecutive losses following a 6-5 defeat to visiting Atlanta on Sunday. St. Louis starter John Gant was charged with four runs on four hits and two BB in 5.1 frames with Mike Mayers giving up a pair of runs in the 6th.

The Cardinals logged seven hits and walked four times with Tommy Pham launching a three run bomb while Francisco Pena smacked a two run single. The Cards offense was quiet until erupting for a five spot in the 7th inning.
St. Louis sends Carlos Martinez to the hill to oppose the Diamondbacks on Monday. Martinez will be looking to build on an 11-2 win versus Cleveland where he allowed two runs in six frames.
The Arizona Diamondbacks pitching imploded Sunday and the bats couldn’t keep up in a 9-6 loss to visiting San Francisco had has the team looking a three straight defeats. Arizona starter Zack Godley couldn’t buy an out with seven runs plated on nine hits and five free passes through four innings.
The Diamondbacks totaled 13 hits and walked four times with Paul Goldschmidt clubbing a two run homer while Jarrod Dyson went 2-4 with a pair of RBI’s. The Snakes saw John Ryan Murphy drive in a run and score twice with Jake Lamb gong 2-3 with a pair of runs.
The Diamondbacks have named Robbie Ray as Monday’s starter against the visiting Cardinals. Ray comes off of a 2-1 win at the Marlins with six innings of shutout baseball.
St. Louis are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. National League West and are 1-5 in their last 6 road games vs. a left-handed starter and are 1-5 in Martinez’s last 6 starts.
