Monday MLB action brings us to Great American Ball Park where the Cincinnati Reds host the Chicago White Sox.
The Chicago White Sox enjoyed a huge afternoon at the plate in a 10-5 victory at Texas on Sunday. Chicago starter Reynaldo Lopez picked up the win with a pair of runs given up on seven hits and three BB while Jace Fry and Xavier Cedeno gave up a combined three runs.

The White Sox racked up 14 hits and walked once with Jose Abreu and Matt Davidson combining for five hits, six RBI’s and three runs while Tim Anderson and Avisail Garcia each drove in a run and combined to score five.
Veteran right hander James Shields toes the rubber against Cincinnati on Monday. Shields comes in off a 6-1 win versus Minnesota with four hits and a pair of BB allowed over seven shutout innings.
The Cincinnati Reds are not a team you want to see right now which we saw in a dominant 8-2 win versus visiting Milwaukee on Sunday. Cincinnati starter Matt Harvey was outstanding in getting the win with two hits allowed over 5.2 scoreless innings with Raisel Iglesius serving up a two run bomb in the 9th.
The Reds pounded out ten hits and walked three times with Jose Peraza gong 2-5 with a homer, four RBI’s and a pair of runs while Joey Votto and Jesse Winker each scored and drove in runs.
Luis Castillo toes the rubber for Cincinnati against the visiting White Sox on Monday. Castillo did not get a decision in a 6-5 win at Atlanta last time out with five runs plated over four frames.
Over is 9-2 in Chicago last 11 on grass and over is 9-2 in Chicago last 11 overall and Chicago are 22-53 in their last 75 road games. Over is 7-0-1 in Cincinnati last 8 Monday games and Cincinnati are 8-2 in their last 10 home games and Cincinnati are 10-3 in their last 13 overall. Chicago are 10-2 in the last 12 meetings.
Cincinnati is hot and the White Sox never are but Castillo is overpriced in my view and I’d rather take the big plus odds with Shields or look elsewhere…
