The Washington Nationals host the Boston Red Sox in 4th of July MLB action on Wednesday.

The Red Sox pounded out 12 hits and walked five times with JD Martinez, Xander Bogaerts and Eduardo Nunez each going deep and knocking in three while scoring two times.

Eduardo Rodriguez toes the rubber in the final game of their series at Washington. Rodriguez has struggled in back to back losses with nine runs plated on 14 hits and four BB in ten innings.

The Washington Nationals had nothing go favorably Tuesday with neither the arms and bats able to come through. Washington starter Tanner Roark getting hit hard with nine runs plated on ten hits and two BB over 7.1 innings of work.

The Nationals totaled 12 hits and walked twice with Brian Goodwin and Pedro Severino each smacking solo homers while Mark Reynolds singled in a run and scored.

Washington gives Wednesday’s start against the visiting Red Sox to Erick Fedde. Fedde defeated Philadelphia 17-7 last time out with five runs given up on eight hits and three BB over five frames.
