The Chicago Cubs lock horns with the rival Cincinnati Reds in Saturday MLB action.
The surging Cincinnati Reds stayed hot with a 3-2 victory at Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon to give the team wins in five of six. Cincinnati starter Tyler Mahle improved to 7-6 with a run plated on five hits and a pair of BB in 6.2 frames.

The Reds banged out nine hits and walked four times with Scooter Gennett and Adam Duvall recording RBI’s while Gennett and Joey Votto scoring. Cincinnati has named right hander Matt Harvey as Saturday’s starter at Wrigley Field. Harvey has won three straight following an 8-2 rout of Milwaukee with 5.2 shutout innings.
The red hot Chicago Cubs cooled down for a day in Friday’s loss to visiting Cincinnati that put an end to a six game winning streak. Chicago starter Mike Montgomery fell to 3-3 with all three runs given up on six hits and two walks over five innings of work.
The Cubs offense consisted of eight hits and three bases on balls with Albert Almora Jr. and Ben Zobrist knocking in runs while Javier Baez and Willson Contreras scored. The Cubs have tabbed right hander Tyler Chatwood for Saturday’s outing against Cincinnati. Chatwood comes off of a 14-9 win (ND) against Minnesota with seven runs allowed over five frames.
Over is 6-1-1 in Cincinnati last 8 overall and over is 6-1-1 in Cincinnati last 8 on grass and under is 5-2-1 in Cincinnati last 8 road games. Over is 8-2 in Chicago last 10 Saturday games and over is 9-3 in Chicago last 12 overall and over is 9-3 in Chicago last 12 on grass. Of course the Reds fortunes rest with whether Harvey can continue his mini hot streak. I‘m hoping so with the nice odds on the Reds…
