Miller Park and the Milwaukee Brewers host the Atlanta Braves in Sunday MLB action.

The Atlanta Braves have been in a bit of  a funk and that has dropped the team to second in the NL East. Atlanta is hoping Saturday’s 5-1 win at Milwaukee is the beginning of a hot streak where starter Anibal Sanchez dominated with two hits allowed over 6.2 frames.

The Braves did their damage on eight hits and six free passes with Johan Camargo knocking in two while Freddie Freeman knocked in a run and scored twice. Nick Markakis gave Atlanta a run and another RBI followed by Ozzie Albies had two hits and scored  twice.

Left hander Sean Newcomb toes the rubber for the Braves in the final game of the series at Milwaukee. Newcomb comes in off of an 8-5 loss at the Yankees with five runs given up on three hits and five BB in 2.2 innings.

The Milwaukee Brewers look to get back in the in column following Saturday’s defeat where nether the arms or bats were able to come through. Milwaukee starter Aaron Wilkerson allowed two runs on four hits and three BB over five innings to get the loss while Mike Zagurski gave up three runs in the 8th.

The Brewers were held to four hits and a base on balls with Brad Miller ripping a run scoring double that plated Hernan Perez. Milwaukee hands Sunday’s series ending start against visiting Atlanta to Junior Guerra. Guerra knocked off Minnesota 2-0 last time out with two hits and three walks allowed over five scoreless frames.

Atlanta are 7-1 in their last 8 Sunday games and over is 14-4 in Atlanta last 18 road games and over is 11-4-1 in Atlanta last 16 overall. Over is 7-2-1 in Milwaukee last 10 overall and over is 7-2-1 in Milwaukee last 10 on grass and under is 19-6-1 in Milwaukee last 26 Sunday games.

Milwaukee is very tough but the Braves aren’t a pushover and I’ll take a shot with them…
