The Milwaukee Brewers and the Miami Marlins meet in game one of a three game set from Marlins Park in MLB action on Monday.
The Milwaukee Brewers will look to stay hot after winning six of their last seven games, including their series against Atlanta, taking the finale by a final score of 10-3 on Monday. Jesus Aguilar led the Brewers by going 2 for 4 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs. Hernan Perez added a home run and three RBIs while Eric Thames added a solo home run and Christian Yelich added an RBI as well to round out Milwaukee’s scoring in the win. Jonathan Villar went 2 for 4 with a double while Lorenzo Cain added a base hit as well to cap off the Brewers’ offense in the victory. Junior Guerra got the win to improve to 6-5 this season after giving up just one run on seven hits while walking three and striking out four over six innings of work. Chase Anderson will start game one and is 6-6 with a 3.99 ERA and 73 strikeouts this season. In his career, Anderson is 3-2 with a 4.04 ERA and 26 strikeouts against Miami.

The Miami Marlins will look to build some steam after salvaging a win against Washington, avoiding the sweep with a 10-2 win on Sunday. J.T. Realmuto led the Fish by going 5 for 6 with three RBIs. Justin Four went 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIs, while JT Riddle added two RBIs going 3 for 6. Martin Prado went 4 for 6 with a double and an RBI while Derek Dietrich and Cameron Maybin each added an RBI as well to round out Miami’s scoring. Starlin Castro went 2 for 6 while Miguel Rojas and Yadiel Rivera each contributed base hits as well as Miami cranked out a whopping 22 hits as a team. Trevor Richards gave up both runs on four hits while walking seven and striking out five, not factoring in the decision. Adam Conley picked up the win in relief to improve to 3-1 this season. Jose Urena will start game one and is 2-9 with a 4.18 ERA and 81 strikeouts this season. In his career, Urena is 0-0 with a 6.35 ERA and 10 strikeouts against Milwaukee.
Milwaukee is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall and 4-1 in Anderson’s last 5 starts against the NL East while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 road games. Miami is 5-17 in Urena’s last 22 home starts against a team with a winning record and 4-11 in their last 15 games against the NL Central while the under is 3-1-1 in their last 5 home games. Milwaukee is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
Both of these teams had impressive showings offensively on Sunday, so the over could be worth a look if they can keep it going. However, Urena has been a mixed bag, alternating shutouts with bumpy starts in his last four outings. Anderson has had his moments as well this season, but he’s the far more consistent hurler, giving up one run in each of his last three starts and has the more consistent offense behind him. All in all, I simply trust Milwaukee more so I’ll back the Brewers to draw first blood on Monday.
