The Kansas City Royals head to Target Field to begin a series with the Minnesota Twins in a Monday MLB tilt.
The Kansas City Royals can’t get anything going after they were dealt a 7-4 loss to the visiting Red Sox on Sunday. Kansas City starter Heath Fillmyer dropped his debut with four runs scoring through 4.1 frames while Glenn Sparkman was charged with three runs over 1.2 innings.

The Royals pounded out 12 hits and walked once with Jorge Bonifacio going 2-5 with two runs driven in while Whit Merrifield was 5-5 with a run and RBI. Kansas City kicks off their series at Minnesota with Danny Duffy on the mound on Monday. Duffy comes in off of a 6-4 loss to Cleveland with all six runs scoring on eight hits and two BB in six frames.
The Minnesota Twins are probably sad to see Baltimore leave town after a 10-1 win Sunday gave the team a four game sweep of the visiting Orioles. Minnesota starter Jake Odorizzi was at his best with six shutout innings while three relievers finished the job.
The Twins totaled eleven hits and a pair of walks with Mitch Garver, Eduardo Escobar and Brian Dozier each going deep and combining for seven RBI’s and five runs while Max Kepler scored twice.
Minnesota sends right hander Jose Berrios to the hill for Monday’s outing against visiting Kansas City. Berrios has dropped consecutive decisions after a 3-2 at Milwaukee with three runs allowed over seven frames.
Kansas City are 1-7 in their last 8 Monday games and are 13-40 in their last 53 overall and are 13-40 in their last 53 games on grass. Minnesota are 3-8 in their last 11 Monday games and are 5-11 in their last 16 overall and are 5-11 in their last 16 games on grass. Kansas City are 10-3 in Duffy’s last 13 starts vs. Minnesota and over is 15-6-2 in the last 23 meetings.
If Kansas City is to knock off Minnesota Duffy is the guy who beats the Twins but the Royals are so bad I can’t advocate a bet on this team…
