Interleague MLB comes to Tropicana Field Tuesday when the Detroit Tigers battle the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Tigers totaled 13 hits and five walks with Niko Goodrum going 2-6 with three RBI’s and a run while Jose Iglesias and Victor Martinez each knocked in two runs.
The Tigers have tabbed Matthew Boyd as Tuesday’s starter at Tropicana Field. Boyd struggled last time out in a 7-5 loss to Texas with seven runs plated (six earned) on seven hits over four frames.
The Tampa Bay Rays shook off a bullpen collapse to squeeze by Detroit in extra Innings on Monday. Tampa Bay starter Chris Archer gave up three runs in 3.1 innings before four relieves allowed a combined six runs.
The Rays amassed 16 hits and four free passes with Wilson Ramos going deep and scoring twice while Carl Gomez had three hits and three RBI’s followed by Adeiny Hechavarria who knocked in two and scored.
Detroit are 4-15 in their last 19 overall and are 3-8 in their last 11 games on astroturf and are 21-48 in their last 69 road games. Tampa Bay are 11-1 in their last 12 games on astroturf and are 11-1 in their last 12 home games.
The Rays have not named a starter yet so the team will likely use a bullpen by committee approach which has been good enough for me to back them…
