The Nationals attack consisted of five hits and four bases on balls with Bryce Harper walking twice and Anthony Rendon going 1-3 with a base on balls. The Nationals send Max Scherzer to the hill to kick off the road series versus the NY Mets. Scherzer comes in off of an 18-4 rout of the Marlins with all four runs given up on seven hits including three homers in seven frames.

The New York Mets traded zeros with the Phillies Wednesday before securing a 3-0 victory in ten innings. New York starter Jacob deGrom gave up five hits and struck out seven with Robert Gsellman throwing a scoreless 10th to get the win.

The Mets offense was limited to four hits and walked four times with Brandon Nimmo slugging a three run walk off homer in the 10th that scored Amed Rosario and Jose Reyes.

The NY Mets have named Steven Matz as Thursday’s series opening starter versus Washington. Matz absorbed a 3-0 defeat to Tampa Bay last time out with a run scoring over 6.1 innings.
