For Saturday’s game one, the Brewers will be bringing out Chase Anderson. Across 99.1 innings and a 6-6 mark this year, Anderson has a 3.81 ERA with 77 Ks.

Tops in hitting for the Brewers is Christian Yelich, who came into Friday with 87 hits, 58 runs, 11 homers and 42 RBI. In game two of this set, Yelich came up empty 0-for-4.

As for the Pirates, in game one Saturday they’re going with Ivan Nova. Over his 98.0 innings and 5-6 record this year, Nova has a 4.50 ERA with 76 Ks.

Pittsburgh’s lead hitter this season is Corey Dickerson, with 95 hits, 37 runs and 35 RBI entering Friday’s action. In that game, Dickerson had two hits and a run.

The Brewers are 2-5 in their last seven versus the NL Central and 1-5 in their last six road games. Milwaukee is 1-5 in their last six in game three of a series and 0-4 in their last four Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the Pirates are 5-1 in their last six opening games of doubleheaders and 4-1 in their last five in game three of a series. Pittsburgh is 4-1 in their last five home games and 1-7 in their last eight Saturday games.

Anderson has been cruising along pretty smoothly over his last four starts, posting a 1.23 ERA in that span. As for Nova, he gave up three runs in 5.2 innings in a win over the Nats his last time up. This is a pretty decent pitching matchup and should be a fun one to watch. I’m sticking with the hot hand in Anderson and going Brewers here.
