We’ve got a fun series coming up from Yankee Stadium on Friday as the New York Mets and the New York Yankees open things up post-All-Star break in the MLB.
The Mets are struggling this year with a 39-55 record overall and are 4-6 in their last 10 games. As for the Yankees, they’re 62-33 on the season and have put up a 6-4 mark over their last 10 outings.

The Mets will be bringing out Noah Syndergaard on Friday for the start. Across 69.2 innings and a 5-1 record this year, Syndergaard has a 2.97 ERA with 79 Ks and 15 BBs.
Leading the Mets hitters this year is Asdrubal Cabrera, with 98 hits, 44 runs, 17 homers and 52 RBI. Amed Rosario is second on the team with 70 hits, 33 runs and 23 RBI so far.
Over on the Yankees’ side, they’re rolling with Domingo German on Friday. In his 78.2 innings and 2-5 record this year, German has a 5.49 ERA with 92 Ks and 30 BBs.
Giancarlo Stanton is the Yankees’ leading hitter this season with 103 hits, 58 runs, 23 homers and 55 RBI. Aaron Judge isn’t too far back on 97 hits, 66 runs, 25 homers and 60 RBI.
The Mets are 8-20 in their last 28 games following a loss and 2-6 in their last eight road games. The Mets are also 3-11 in their last 14 in game one of a series and 1-5 in their last six games following an off day.
Meanwhile, the Yankees are 52-16 in their last 68 home games and 5-2 in their last seven versus the NL East. The Yankees are also 53-24 in their last 77 overall and 5-1 in German’s last six home starts.
Syndergaard is one of the bright spots for the Mets this year, and he’s actually 3-0 in his last four starts with a total of seven earned across that span. German, meanwhile, wasn’t good in his last start, with six earned in 4.0 innings. If the Mets are going to get one or two of these games, this is a good spot to do it if they can catch the Yankees offense sleeping. I’m taking the Mets as a value pick here.
