The Chicago White Sox and Seattle Mariners meet Saturday in MLB action at Safeco Field.
The Chicago White Sox could use a feel good win here after losing eight of their last 11 games. The White Sox have allowed nine runs in their last three games and four or more runs in 10 of their last 14 games. The Chicago White Sox have lost 12 of their last 15 games when allowing more than one run. Offensively, Jose Abreu leads the White Sox with 92 hits and 52 RBI while Yolmer Sanchez and Yoan Moncada have combined for 174 hits and 83 RBI. Dylan Covey gets the ball, and he is 3-5 with a 5.69 ERA and 43 strikeouts this season. This will be Covey’s second career game against the Mariners.

The Seattle Mariners could also use a win after losing five of their last seven games. The Mariners have scored seven runs in their last three games and three or more runs in six of their last eight games. The Seattle Mariners have split their last eight games when scoring at least three runs. Jean Segura leads the Mariners with 121 hits and 47 RBI while Dee Gordon and Mitch Haniger have combined for 211 hits and 87 RBI. Felix Hernandez gets the ball, and he is 8-7 with a 5.13 ERA and 87 strikeouts this season. Hernandez is 7-6 with a 3.76 ERA and 114 strikeouts in his career against the White Sox.
The White Sox are 8-20 in their last 28 Saturday games, 1-12 in Coveys last 13 road starts and 0-5 in Coveys last 5 starts. The Mariners are 12-4 in their last 16 Saturday games, 7-0 in Hernandezs last 7 starts vs. American League Central and 6-2 in Hernandezs last 8 Saturday starts. The Mariners are 4-0 in Hernandezs last 4 starts vs. White Sox, 6-1 in Hernandezs last 7 home starts vs. White Sox and the White Sox are 1-5 in the last 6 meetings.
This price is rather crazy when you consider Hernandez hasn't been great this season and has been dealing with a back injury. However, the Chicago White Sox have been dwonright awful all season and provide no betting value considering they go on these insane losing stretches. Covey is also allowing a .290 batting average on the season and has given up four or more runs in each of his last five starts. On the road this season, Covey has a 7.90 ERA and an allowed batting average of .306 in 27.1 innings. Yeah, no thanks. I'll take the Mariners and the RL to add value to the actual bet.
