Down at Globe Life Park on Saturday, the Cleveland Indians and the Texas Rangers will be picking up their MLB set once again.
In the Friday opener, the Indians blew a lead in the bottom of the ninth but eventually got it back 9-8 in 11 innings.
For Saturday’s game, the Indians will be rolling out RHP Carlos Carrasco. In his 102.2 innings and 11-5 record this year, Carrasco has a 4.12 ERA with 112 Ks and 23 BBs.

Leading the way for the Indians hitters this year is Francisco Lindor, who came into this set on 113 hits, 85 runs, 25 homers and 62 RBI. On Friday, Lindor had one hit.
As for the Rangers, they’re sending out veteran Bartolo Colon on Saturday. Across 106.2 innings and a 5-7 record this year, Colon has a 4.64 ERA with 62 Ks and 17 BBs.
Entering this set, Texas’ lead hitter was Shin-Soo Choo, with 102 hits, 54 runs, 18 homers and 43 RBI. In the opener, Choo had two hits, a run and an RBI.
The Indians are 1-6 in the last seven Saturday games and 5-2 in Carrasco’s last seven Saturday starts. Cleveland is also 35-16 in Carrasco’s last 51 starts and 13-6 in his last 19 starts in game two of a series.
Meanwhile, the Rangers are 0-4 in their last four in game two of a series and 4-1 in Colon’s last five home starts. Texas is 1-4 in Colon’s last five starts versus a team with a winning record and 1-6 in his last seven starts following a quality start in his last appearance.
After a bad start against the Twins back on June 16 (four earned in 1.1 innings), Carrasco calmed down in his next two starts with four earned in 10.1 innings. As for Colon, he’s got four quality starts in his last five tries, giving up 11 earned in that quartet. Colon is just 1-3 in his last four starts though, so the Rangers haven’t been giving him good support on the whole. That gives me pause so I’m going Indians here.
