Coming up from Rogers Centre on Saturday, we’ve got an afternoon game two in the series between the Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays.
In the Friday opener, Toronto was leading 7-2 after seven innings, but then gave up five in the next two frames. Fortunately for the Jays, they were able to get the win 8-7 in 10 innings.

For Saturday’s game, the Orioles will be bringing out Alex Cobb. Over 92.2 innings and a 2-12 record this year, Cobb has a 6.41 ERA with 63 Ks.
Adam Jones leads the way for the Orioles offense with 104 hits, 38 runs, 10 homers and 36 RBI heading into the series. In the opener, Jones had a hit and a run.
Over on the Jays’ side, they’re rolling with Marcus Stroman on Saturday. Over 66.0 innings and a 2-7 record so far this year, Stroman has a 5.86 ERA with 52 Ks and 26 BBs.
Tops in hitting for the Blue Jays this season is Yangervis Solarte, who entered this set on 88 hits, 43 runs, 16 homers and 48 RBI. In the Friday game, Solarte went 0-for-4.
The Orioles are 17-36 in their last 53 Saturday games and 15-42 in their last 57 in game two of a series. The under is 5-1 in Baltimore’s last six in game two of a series and 2-0-2 in their last four games versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.
Meanwhile, the Jays are 2-5 in their last seven in game two of a series and 4-10 in their last 14 Saturday games. Toronto is 1-4 in Stroman’s last five starts versus a team with a losing record and the under is 34-12-5 in their last 51 Saturday games.
It’s been a rocky road for Stroman this year, but he’s been on the better side lately. If you throw out the six earned he gave up against the Mets on July 4, Stroman has given up five earned over four starts and done it against some pretty good teams. I’m not confident in Stroman in any way, but he doesn’t need to be super dominant to get a win here. Give me Toronto.
