The St. Louis Cardinals visit Great American Ball Park to face the Cincinnati Reds in Tuesday MLB.
The St. Louis Cardinals were dominant on the mound until the 9th in a painful 2-1 loss at Cincinnati. St. Louis starter Daniel Poncedeleon was outstanding with seven no hit frames with Jordan Hicks allowing a hit in a scoreless 8th. The roof fell in for the Cardinals when Bud Norris surrendered a two out homer before loading the bases and giving up another two out run to get the loss.

The Cards offense consisted of five hits and a walk with Yadier Molina driving in Matt Carpenter with a single in the 6th inning.
St. Louis sends rookie Austin Gomber to the hill at Cincinnati for his first career start. Gomber has made 15 relief appearances in 2018 and is 0-0 with a 3.77 ERA through 14.1 innings.
The pesky Cincinnati Reds were quiet at the plate until coming to life in the 9th to earn a 2-1 victory versus visiting St. Louis on Monday. Cincinnati starter Luis Castillo allowed a run over 5.1 innings for a no decision while three relievers put up zeros.
The Reds offense totaled five hits and four bases on balls with Eugenio Suarez clubbing a two out homer in the 9th to knot the score 1-1. Dilson Herrera won it for Cincinnati with a pinch hit single.
Cincinnati is hoping right hander Homer Bailey can right the ship when he takes the mound against visiting St. Louis on Tuesday. On the year Bailey is 1-7 with a 6.68 ERA but hasn’t started since late May.
