The Houston Astros and the Colorado Rockies square off in the finale of their mini two game interleague set from Coors Field in MLB action on Wednesday.

The Houston Astros will look to complete the sweep after taking game one on Tuesday by a final score of 8-2. George Springer, Alex Bregman and Kyle Tucker each had two RBIs, with Springer and Bregman each going yard while Tucker hit a pinch-hit triple. Jose Altuve went 2 for 5 while Josh Reddick and Marwin Gonzalez each added a base hit in the victory. Gerrit Cole gave up two runs on five hits while striking out nine over six innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Hector Rondon picked up the win to improve to 2-2 this season. Charlie Morton will start game two and is 11-2 with a 2.96 ERA and 146 strikeouts this season. In his career, Morton is 2-2 with a 4.53 ERA and 25 strikeouts against Colorado.

Colorado Rockies vs. Houston Astros - 7/25/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Rockies will look to salvage a series split after letting the opener get away on Tuesday. Gerardo Parra and Carlos Gonzalez each had an RBI, with CarGo hitting a double in the loss. Charlie Blackmon and Nolan Arenado each added a two-bagger, while Ian Desmond and Garrett Hampson each contributed a base knock as well in the loss. Tyler Anderson gave up two runs, one earned, on three hits over 7.1 innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Wade Davis was tagged for five runs in the 10th, taking the loss to fall to 0-3 this season. Jon Gray will start game two and is 8-7 with a 5.44 ERA and 125 strikeouts this season. This will be Gray’s first career start against Houston.

Houston is 5-2 in Morton’s last 7 starts and 36-15 in their last 51 division matchups while the under is 9-1 in their last 10 interleague games. Colorado is 5-2 in Gray’s last 7 home starts and 19-42 in their last 61 games against the AL West while the under is 7-2 in their last 9 home games. Houston is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams and 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams in Colorado.

The plus money is tempting with Colorado considering that Colorado has won the last three times Gray has taken to the hill. However, Gray still has an ERA well over five and the Rockies burned me big time on Tuesday, as the bullpen, Wade Davis in particular, simply imploded. Morton has been one of the best under the radar arms in the majors, and the fact here is that we are getting a great price with one of the best and most consistent teams in the league in the Astros, so I’ll lay the juice with Houston for the sweep on Wednesday.
