The Washington Nationals and the Milwaukee Brewers duke it out in the rubber match of their three game set from Miller Park in MLB action on Wednesday.

The Washington Nationals will look to rebound after dropping game two on Tuesday by a final score of 5-4 in extra innings. Adam Eaton led the Nats by going 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs, while Ryan Zimmerman went 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI of his own to round out Washington’s scoring in the loss. Spencer Kieboom went 2 for 3 at the dish while Anthony Rendon added a base hit of his own to cap off Washington’s scoring in the defeat. Jeremy Hellickson gave up three runs on seven hits while striking out three over five innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Matt Grace took the loss, falling to 0-1 this season. Tanner Roark will start the finale and is 3-12 with a 4.87 ERA and 98 strikeouts this season. In his career, Roark is 3-1 with a 2.72 ERA and 32 strikeouts against Milwaukee.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee Brewers will look to take the series after evening the set up at one win apiece following their victory on Tuesday. Christian Yelich led the Brewers with two RBIs, going 3 for 4 with a home run. Lorenzo Cain went 4 for 5 with an RBI while Eric Thames and Tyler Saladino each went hitless with an RBI. Starting pitcher Junior Guerra added a pair of doubles and Ryan Braun added a pinch-hit two bagger while Travis Shaw and Brad Miller each contributed a base hit to cap off Milwaukee’s offense in the win. Guerra gave up all four runs on four hits while striking out four over six innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Dan Jennings picked up the win to improve to 4-3 this season. Freddy Peralta will start game three and is 4-1 with a 2.65 ERA and 50 strikeouts this season. This will be Peralta’s first career start against Washington.

Washington is 0-5 in Roark’s last 5 road starts and 4-13 in their last 17 road games while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games against the NL Central. Milwaukee is 2-8 in their last 10 games overall and 8-3 in their last 11 home games while the over is 11-5 in their last 16 games against the NL East. Washington is 1-4 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.

Roark has solid numbers against the Brewers in his career, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s been the Nationals’ worst starter this season and has had no luck on the road as of late. Milwaukee has been up and down as well, but Peralta’s shown good stuff to start hit major league career and we are getting a decent price to fade Roark and the Nationals so I’ll take it and side with Milwaukee on Wednesday.
