Wednesday MLB brings us to Tropicana Field where the Tampa Bay Rays host the New York Yankees.
The New York Yankees leaned on their pitching on Tuesday to down Tampa Bay 4-0. This was all about Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka who allowed three hits and struck out nine in a complete game performance.

New York banged out eight hits and walked once with Austin Romine knocking in a pair of runs while Miguel Andujar going 2-4 and scoring twice.
The Yankees end their series at Tampa Bay with Luis Cessa on the bump. Cessa comes off of a 10-2 win at Baltimore with three hits and three BB allowed in six shutout frames.
Tampa Bay never found the groove at the plate and their pitching couldn’t hold up in Tuesday’s loss to the visiting Yankees. Tampa Bay starter Yonny Chrinos allowed three runs on six hits over 6.2 frames to absorb the loss.
The Rays offense really struggled with just three hits and a free pass with CJ Cron logging a pair of hits while Jesus Sucre went 1-3 with a single.
Tampa Bay sends right hander Nathan Eovaldi to the mound to face the Yankees on Wednesday. Eovaldi did not receive a decision in a 6-5 loss to Miami with a run allowed over six innings.
Over is 7-1-2 in NY Yankees last 10 overall and over is 5-1-2 in NY Yankees last 8 road games and NY Yankees are 38-15 in their last 53 Wednesday games. Tampa Bay are 20-7 in their last 27 games on astroturf and are 20-7 in their last 27 home games and are 2-7 in Eovald’is last 9 starts. Under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Tampa Bay and under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings.
Let me say first that the price tag on the Yankees has turned me off but I do favor their bats in this matchup…
***UPDATE: Eovaldi has been scratched (Traded to Red Sox) replaced by Stanek, pick still remains the same
