The Minnesota Twins and the Boston Red Sox hook up for game two of their four game set from Fenway Park in MLB action on Friday.

The Minnesota Twins will look to keep their momentum going after stealing game one with a 2-1 victory on Thursday. Mitch Garver led Minny by putting up a double and an RBI while Brian Dozier went 2 for 3 at the dish. Joe Bauer, Eduardo Escobar, Robbie Grossman, Max Kepler and Bobby Wilson each had a base hit in the winning effort for the Twins. Kyle Gibson got the win to improve to 5-7 this season after giving up the one run on four hits while striking out seven over eight innings of work. Fernando Rodney picked up his 22nd save of the season in closing out the 9th. Lance Lynn will start game two and is 7-8 with a 5.23 ERA and 97 strikeouts this season. In his career, Lynn is 1-1 with a 1.50 ERA and 13 strikeouts against Boston.

Boston Red Sox vs. Minnesota Twins - 7/27/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Red Sox will look to rebound after letting one slip away in the series opener on Thursday. Mookie Betts accounted for the lone Red Sox RBI in the loss, while Xander Bogaerts went 2 for 4 with a double. J.D. Martinez, Rafael Devers and Blake Swihart each added base hits as Boston cranked out just five hits as a team in the losing effort. Brian Johnson threw 5.2 shutout innings, giving up just four hits while striking out five, not factoring in the decision. Matt Barnes took the loss to fall to 3-3 this season. Chris Sale will start game two and is 11-4 with a 2.13 ERA and 197 strikeouts this season. In his career, Sale is 10-6 with a 4.12 ERA and 158 strikeouts against Minnesota.

Minnesota is 0-4 in Lynn’s last 4 road starts and 8-20 in their last 28 road games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games against the AL East. Boston is 5-0 in Sale’s last 5 starts and 6-1 in their last 7 games against the AL Central while the under is 13-5-1 in their last 19 home games.

The plus money with Minnesota is tempting considering they’re the team in better form coming into this game. However, the fact is that the Twins are still a struggling bunch on the road, and it’s been no different for Lynn as the Twins have lost his last four starts on the road. Sale continues to be Sale, throwing back-to-back shutouts and I think he does it again as Boston takes game two. But there’s no way I’m laying this kind of juice so I’ll back Boston on the run line to get some sort of value out of the bet.
