The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves meet in game two of their three game set from SunTrust Park in MLB action on Saturday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to build some steam after taking Friday’s series opener by a final score of 4-1. Starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw did his best to help his own cause, leading the team with two RBIs, while Yasmani Grandal and Alex Verdugo each hit a solo home run. Manny Machado went 2 for 5 while Chris Taylor added a double and Cody Bellinger chipped in a base hit of his own to round out the Dodgers’ offense in the win. Kershaw got the W on the mound, improving to 4-5 this season after allowing one run on six hits while striking out eight over 7.2 innings of work. Kenley Jansen closed out the 9th for his 30th save of the year. Alex Wood will start game two and is 6-5 with a 3.87 ERA and 98 strikeouts this season. In his career, Wood is 1-3 with a 6.05 ERA and 13 strikeouts against Atlanta.

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves will look to rebound after their defeat in game one on Friday. Ender Inciarte accounted for the lone Atlanta run, while Nick Markakis went 2 for 4 with a double. Ozzie Albies, Kurt Suzuki and Dansby Swanson each added a base hit to cap off Atlanta’s offense as the Braves put up just six hits as a team in the loss. Mike Foltynewicz took the loss, falling to 7-7 this season after giving up all four runs on six hits while striking out eight over five innings of work. Max Fried will start game two and is 1-3 with a 3.92 ERA and 25 strikeouts this season. This will be Fried’s first career start against the Dodgers.

Los Angeles is 4-1 in Wood’s last 5 road starts and 22-9 in their last 31 road games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Atlanta is 5-2 in Fried’s last 7 starts and 5-12 in their last 17 games overall while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games against the NL West. Los Angeles is 24-9 in the last 33 meetings between these two teams and 6-1 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams in Atlanta.

The plus money with Atlanta at home is tempting considering Wood has had his struggles with his former team, and Fried has been decent for what we’ve seen so far this season. However, Atlanta’s last four losses have seen the team score three runs or less, and Wood has given up three runs or less in his last eight starts. What it boils down to is we are getting a great price with one of the more dangerous lineups in all of baseball with the addition of Manny Machado, so I’ll lay the juice with the Dodgers in game two as well.
