The Cleveland Indians continue their series at Comerica Park with the Detroit Tigers in a Saturday MLB tilt.
The Cleveland Indians rode a late scoring burst to pull away from Detroit for an 8-3 victory on Friday. Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco allowed all three runs (one earned) over 6.1 frames before four relievers put up zeros.

The Indians did their damage on nine hits and three walks with Yonder Alonso going 2-3 with a homer, two RBI’s and two runs while Brandon Guyer cracked a three run bomb followed by Francisco Lindor who went deep twice and drove in three.
Mike Clevinger toes the rubber for the Indians in game two of their series at Detroit. Clevinger comes in off of a 5-0 loss at Texas with a pair of runs allowed on four hits and four BB over 6.2 innings of work.
The Detroit Tigers struggled late on the mound in Friday’s loss to the Indians. Detroit starter Mike Fiers gave up three runs in six innings while Joe Jimenez gave up three runs with Daniel Stumpf and Victor Alcantara served up solo bombs.
The Tigers banged out ten hits and walked three times with Victor Martinez going deep for the 6th time while Nicholas Castellanos knocked in a run and scored.
The Tigers are sending Francisco Liriano to the bump to face Cleveland for the 4th time in 2018. Liriano did not receive a decision in a 5-4 win at Kansas City last time out where he gave up three runs in 4.2 frames.
Cleveland are 2-6 in their last 8 Saturday games and under is 27-12-3 in Cleveland last 42 Saturday games and under is 11-0-1 in Clevinger’s last 12 Saturday starts. Detroit are 6-18 in their last 24 games on grass and are 8-23 in their last 31 overall and are 3-8 in their last 11 home games. Cleveland are 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Detroit and Cleveland are 40-14 in the last 54 meetings.
I think Cleveland is going to put the rest of the division away and soon and that begins with another win on Saturday…
