The Line: New York Yankees -330 / Baltimore Orioles +290 --- Over/Under: 9 See the Latest Odds

The Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees square off in game one of a mini two game AL East division set from Yankee Stadium in MLB action on Tuesday.

The Baltimore Orioles will look to stay hot after winning three straight to close out their series with Tampa Bay, including an 11-5 win in the finale on Sunday. Chris Davis led the O’s, going 2 for 3 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs, while Jonathan School added a home run of his own with three RBIs. Austin Wynns hit a solo shot, while Adam Jones, Mark Trumbo and Jace Peterson each added a run on the board in the win. Tim Beckham went 3 for 5 with a double and Joey Rickard went 2 for 4 while Trey Mancini added a base hit of his own as each Baltimore played that stepped up to the plate had at least one hit. Dylan Bundy got the win to improve to 7-9 this season after allowing three runs on four hits while striking out seven over seven innings of work. Yefry Ramirez will start the opener and is 1-3 with a 3.49 ERA and 30 strikeouts this season. This will be Ramirez’s second career start against the Yankees.

The New York Yankees will be looking to pick up some momentum after winning their series with the Kansas City Royals, including a 6-3 win in the series finale on Sunday. Aaron Hicks led the charge, going 3 for 3 with a home run, a double and two RBIs, while Giancarlo Stanton, Gleyber Torres, Greg Bird and Miguel Andujar each had an RBI in the win. Austin Romine added a double while Neil Walker and Brett Gardner each added a base knock as well in the victory. J.A. Haps got his first win in pinstripes, giving up one run on three hits over six innings of work while Aroldis Chapman struck out the side in the 9th for his 28th save of the season. Masahiro Tanaka will start game one and is 8-2 with a 4.09 ERA and 92 strikeouts this season. In his career, Tanaka is 3-3 with a 4.04 ERA and 76 strikeouts against Baltimore.

Baltimore is 14-52 in their last 66 road games and 19-44 in their last 63 division matchups while the over is 5-1-1 in their last 7 games following a win. New York is 4-1 in Tanaka’s last 5 division starts and 2-5 in their last 7 series opening matchups while the under is 4-1-1 in their last 6 games overall. New York is 2-6 in Tanaka’s last 8 starts against Baltimore.

Ramirez got roughed up by the Yankees in his lone start against them this season, giving up four runs in four innings and Tanaka is coming off of a complete game shutout in his last starts. However, the Yankees, while winning 3 of 4 against Kansas City, are far from a slam dunk, as they didn’t blow out the Royals like they probably should have. Baltimore’s offense came alive in the last three games against the Rays, outscoring Tampa Bay 37-12 in the final three games of the series. The Yankees are also just 5-5 against Baltimore this season, so I’d probably put something small on Baltimore or leave this one alone.
