The Miami Marlins and the Atlanta Braves duke it out in the finale of their three game NL East division set from SunTrust Park in MLB action on Wednesday.

The Miami Marlins will look to salvage a win and avoid the sweep after dropping the first two games of the set following an 11-6 loss in game two on Tuesday. Magneuris Sierra led the Fish with two RBIs, going 3 for 4 with a double. J.T. Realmuto added a solo home run while Justin Four and JT Riddle each had an RBI in the loss. Brian Anderson went 2 for 4 with a double while Starlin Castro, Isaac Galloway and Miguel Rojas each added a base hit to round out Miami’s offense in the losing effort. Dan Straily took the loss, falling to 4-5 this season after allowing eight runs, five earned, on eleven hits while striking out four over 3.2 innings of work. Pablo Lopez will start the finale and is 2-2 with a 5.34 ERA and 23 strikeouts this season. This will be Lopez’s first career start against Atlanta.

The Atlanta Braves will look to finish off the sweep after their win in game two on Tuesday. Kurt Suzuki led the Braves with a double and three RBIs, while Ronald Acuna Jr. and Nick Markakis each had a home run and two RBIs. Johan Camargo added a solo shot while Ozzie Albies, Freddie Freeman and Dansby Swanson each added an RBI to round out Atlanta’s scoring, with Swanson going 2 for 5 with a double. Ender Inciarte went 4 for 5 with a double of his own while starting pitcher Kolby Allard recorded his first major league hit to cap off Atlanta’s offense in the victory. Allard picked up the win despite giving up five runs, four earned, on nine hits over five innings of work. Anibal Sanchez will start game three and is 5-3 with a 3.00 ERA and 74 strikeouts this season. In his career, Sanchez is 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA and 11 strikeouts against Miami.

Miami is 20-43 in their last 63 road games against a team with a winning record and 7-15 in their last 22 game 3 matchups while the over is 3-1-1 in Lopez’s last 5 starts. Atlanta is 8-3 in Sanchez’s last 11 starts on grass and 6-2 in their last 8 division matchups while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. Miami is 1-4 in the last 5 meetings between these two tams and 1-5 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams in Atlanta.

Both of these starters have been roughed up lately, the difference being that it’s a new trend for Sanchez who has been pretty dependable for much of the season. Lopez has allowed four or more runs in three of his last four starts, and going against a Braves offense that’s only going to get stronger with the arrival of guys like Adam Duvall surely isn’t going to help. This is simply a case of me having more faith in Sanchez being able to right the ship than Lopez, so I’ll back Atlanta here on the run line to add some value to the bet.
