San Francisco starter Dereck Rodriguez allowed a run over seven frames but did not get the win with Reyes Moronta giving up an 8th inning run to blow the save.

The Giants logged ten hits and walked six times with Andrew McCutchen smacking his 11th long ball while Brandon Crawford and Gorkys Hernandez recorded RBI’s with Evan Longoria and Austin Slater scoring.

San Francisco gives Thursday’s starting assignment to left hander Madison Bumgarner. Bumgarner comes off of a 3-1 defeat versus Milwaukee with three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk through eight innings.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are looking to extend their lead in the NL West and have been doing their part with wins in four of five after upending the Rangers 6-0 on Tuesday. Arizona starter Zack Goodley improved to 12-6 with two hits allowed over seven scoreless innings where he struck out ten.

The Diamondbacks banged out nine hits and walked four times with AJ Pollock leading the way with a solo jack while Nick Ahmed drove in two and scored twice followed by Jon Jay with an RBI and run.

Veteran right hander Zack Greinke makes his second start of the year against San Francisco. Greinke has won three straight games with two runs allowed over 22.2 innings of work.

Under is 15-5-1 in San Francisco last 21 road games and San Francisco are 2-6 in their last 8 Thursday games and under is 17-6-3 in Bumgarner’s last 26 on grass. Arizona are 5-12 in their last 17 home games and are 19-8 in their last 27 Thursday games and are 8-1 in Greinke’s last 9 Thursday starts. Under is 6-1-1 in Greinke’s last 8 starts vs. San Francisco.

Bumgarner is never easy to go against but Greinke has been as good as anybody and he deserves a look in this matchup…
