The Cincinnati Reds visit the nation’s capital to take the field with the Washington Nationals in a Thursday MLB tilt.
The Cincinnati Reds couldn’t control the scoreboard in falling 7-4 at Detroit Wednesday for back defeats. Cincinnati starter Sal Romano dropped to 6-9 with four runs allowed in 5.1 frames while three relievers gave up a run each.

The Reds offense managed eleven hits and a pair of free passes with all four runs scoring in the 7th. Curt Casali doubled in two with Billy Hamilton smacking an RBI single followed by Preston Tucker who drove in a run and scored.
Cincinnati sends Tyler Mahle to the hill Thursday to oppose the Nationals. Mahle has struggled the past three times out with 14 earned runs given up 20 hits including five homers in nine combined innings.
The Washington Nationals are looking to go on a prolonged hot streak to get themselves back in the NL East race. Washington might be on their way after a 5-3 win versus the Mets gave the team consecutive victories. Nationals starter Tommy Milone gave up a run over seven frames to get the win.
The Nats offense consisted of seven hits and a par of free passes with Anthony Rendon clubbing a two run bomb while Bryce Harper knocked in a run and scored followed by Trea Turner scored three times.
