For the Friday game, the Rockies will be bringing out RHP German Marquez. In his 115.2 innings and 9-8 record this year, Marquez has a 4.82 ERA with 120 Ks and 41 BBs.

Gerardo Parra was the big hitter in the Rockies’ Thursday loss, bagging three hits

Over on the Brewers’ side, they’re fresh off a set versus the Dodgers. After winning the first two games in that series 5-2 and 1-0, on Thursday Milwaukee lost by a ridiculous 21-5 score.

For the Friday outing, Milwaukee will be giving the ball to Junior Guerra. Across 107.2 innings and a 6-7 mark this year, Guerra has a 3.43 ERA with 105 Ks and 44 BBs.

Leading the Brewers in hitting this year is Christian Yelich, who came into Thursday on 118 hits, 72 runs, 15 homers and 57 RBI. In the Dodgers finale Yelich homered with three hits and three runs.

The Rockies are 7-0 in their last seven Friday games and 5-0 in Marquez’s last five starts. Colorado is also 7-2 in Marquez’s last nine Friday starts and 8-2 in his last 10 starts versus the NL Central.

Meanwhile, the Brewers are 9-3 in their last 12 Friday games and 8-3 in their last 11 in game one of a series. Milwaukee is also 4-0 in Guerra’s last four home starts and 5-2 in his last seven starts.

Aside from his one hiccup in Arizona (five earned in 5.0 innings), Marquez has pitched well, with four quality starts in his last five and a combined six earned. Guerra hasn’t done as well lately, with one quality start against the Nats sandwiched between to bad outings (11 earned) over his last three. I’m going to go with Marquez to keep it going here and help the Rockies get a win.
