Citizens Bank Park and the Philadelphia Phillies host the Miami Marlins in an NL East MLB tilt.
The Miami Marlins couldn’t close things out Thursday as a 2-1, 9th inning lead turned in to a 5-2 defeat. Miami starter Pablo Lopez allowed a run over six frames before Kyle Barraclough gave up four runs in the 9th including a walk off three run homer.

The Marlins managed five hits with Justin Bour clubbing a two run homer while JT Realmuto scored.
The Marlins hand the ball to Jose Urena for Friday’s start at Philadelphia. Urena comes off a dominant 5-0 victory against Washington with one hit and four BB allowed over six innings.
The Philadelphia Phillies looked dead in the water until a four run 9th snatched victory from defeat. Philadelphia starter Nick Pivetta gave up both runs over six frames with Tommy Hunter getting the win with a scoreless 9th.
The Phillies banged out seven hits and walked three times with Rhys Hoskins going solo while Nick Williams singled in a run followed Maikel Franco smashed a three run walk off homer with two out in the 9th.
Vince Velasquez toes the rubber against the visiting Marlins on Friday. Velasquez will be looking to get back in the win column following a 6-2 loss (ND) versus Cincinnati where he gave up a pair of runs over five frames.
Over is 12-4 in Miami last 16 road games and Miami are 2-6 in Urena’s last 8 road starts and Miami are 8-20 in Urena’s last 28 starts. Over is 7-1 in Philadelphia last 8 Friday games and Philadelphia are 8-2 in their last 10 home games and Philadelphia are 4-9 in their last 13 Friday games. Miami are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings and Miami are 1-5 in the last 6 meetings in Philadelphia.
I think the Phillies need to build on the momentum of Thursday’s victory and even though I’m not a big fan of Velasquez I believe the Phils get another win…
