The San Francisco Giants will look to bounce back after dropping game two on Friday by a final score of 6-3. Austin Slater went 2 for 4 with two RBIs while Brandon Crawford added an RBI of his own despite going 0 for 4 at the dish in the loss. Buster Posey and Evan Longoria each had a pair of hits while Hunter Pence, Steven Duggar and starting pitcher Chris Stratton each added a base hit in the losing effort as none of San Fran’s nine hits as a team went for extra bases in defeat. Stratton took the loss on the mound, falling to 8-7 this season after giving up all six runs on ten hits while walking and striking out four apiece over just three innings of work. Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Diamondbacks will be looking to build some stem after evening the set up at one win apiece following their victory on Friday. Starting pitcher Patrick Corbin led the D-Backs with two RBIs, while Paul Goldschmidt and David Peralta each belted a solo home run with Peralta going 3 for 4 with a double as well. Eduardo Escobar went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Alex Avila added an RBI as well to round out the scoring for the Diamondbacks in the win. Jon Jay went 2 for 4 while Ketel Marte, Daniel Descalso and A.J. Pollock each added a base hit to cap off Arizona’s offense. Corbin got the win on the mound to improve to 8-4 this season, giving up all three runs on seven hits while striking out eight over six innings of work. Brad Boxberger closed out the 9th for his 26th save of the campaign. Clay Buchholz will start game three and is 4-1 with a 2.65 ERA and 43 strikeouts this season. In his career, Buchholz is 0-0 with a 2.57 ERA and 9 strikeouts against San Francisco.

San Francisco is 5-2 in Suarez’s last 7 starts and 4-1 in their last 5 games overall while the under is 4-0-1 in Suarez’s last 5 division starts. Arizona is 4-1 in Buchholz’s last 5 starts and 5-1 in their last 6 division matchups while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 game 3 matchups. San Francisco is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams and 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams in Arizona.

I haven’t been able to get on the right side in the first two games of this series, so I’m hesitant to back either side here. However, Buchholz has been solid in his time with Arizona, winning his last three starts and allowing two runs or less in seven of his nine starts this season. San Francisco continues to be hit or miss on the road, and Suarez’s ERA is a full run higher on the road than it is at home. I think you have to ride the hot hand in Buchholz and lay the juice with Arizona here.
