The Pittsburgh Pirates needed a big effort at the plate on Friday and got it to outscore St. Louis. Pittsburgh starter Chris Archer was charged with five runs (four earned) on seven hits and four BB through 4.1 frames before Kyle Crick allowed an 8th inning run to get the loss.
The Pirates racked up 12 hits and walked twice with Gregory Polanco smacking a bases loaded triple while Adam Frazier was 3-5 with an RBI and two runs followed by Josh Harrison who drove in a run and scored.

St. Louis are 5-2 in their last 7 overall and over is 6-2 in St. Louis last 8 road games. Pittsburgh are 16-5 in their last 21 overall and are 16-5 in their last 21 games on grass and are 9-3 in their last 12 home games. St. Louis are 2-6 in the last 8 meetings in Pittsburgh and under is 11-4-2 in the last 17 meetings.
I really feel uncomfortable with the pitching matchup but I’ll go with the experienced Nova and the Pirates…
